Duties and Responsibilities
- To represent the Foreign Relations and Erasmus Coordination Office inside and outside the institution,
- To ensure coordination between the Foreign Relations and Erasmus Coordination Office and the relevant units and to organize information meetings,
- To carry out internal and external correspondence on issues concerning the unit in terms of its subject, to ensure that all kinds of documents are recorded and filed, to ensure that the relevant unit is informed on issues concerning other units,
- To ensure the communication of our university with the universities it is a partner of both within the scope of Erasmus+ and within the framework of bilateral cooperation,
- To determine the selection criteria and principles of students and staff by working one-on-one with the Academic/Administrative and Student Exchange and Cooperation Commission,
- To represent our University in organizations such as International Week/Staff Week held in partner schools, to visit universities with partnership potential abroad,
- To increase bilateral cooperation by representing our University in international conferences, seminars or education fairs held in our country and abroad and to ensure the recognition of our University,
- To follow and prepare the reports, contracts and all requested documents requested by the National Agency and the European Commission, to ensure that the documents and reports are signed and followed by the necessary authorities,
- To prepare and submit reports when requested by the Council of Higher Education,
- To ensure that the Foreign Relations and Erasmus Coordination Office works in coordination with other international units and institutions on behalf of our University,
- To inform incoming students and staff about the program contents and the roadmap and procedures to be followed for participation in exchange programs, and to follow the process of operation,
- To carry out the promotion, application, examination, selection, orientation, paperwork, grant, follow-up and reporting processes of outgoing students and staff in coordination with the relevant units,
- To prepare the planning activities, reports and information file of the Foreign Relations and Erasmus Coordination Office, to prepare them when necessary and to present them to the senior management,
- To make and follow up membership applications, information updates, correspondence in relations with international organizations,
- To carry out Erasmus+ exchange programs in line with SANKO University European Union Erasmus Program Implementation Directive and the National Agency’s Handbook for Higher Education,
- To prepare and submit to the management the information file containing the forward-looking activity plan, workflow processes and activity reports of the previous year every year,
- To establish a registration and filing system in accordance with the Standard File Plan determined by the Council of Higher Education,
- Preparing a budget,
- To carry out its duties in accordance with the relevant legislation, quality management system policy objectives and procedures and the definitions and policies of the internal control system, to fulfill the additional duties and responsibilities specified in the quality and internal control management system documents, to comply with the warnings and instructions regarding occupational safety.
Services Offered
- The External Relations and Erasmus Coordinatorship is responsible for coordinating the external relations of SANKO University. It ensures the coordination of every international activity carried out by our university.
- It provides the English translation of the Protocol Agreements to be realized within the framework of the Exchange Programs in order to prepare them for signature, the follow-up of the work at the contracted universities and the implementation and activation of the signed agreements. Within the scope of mobility, it guides the staff and students on their path from the announcement stage to the selection stage and helps them to communicate with their destinations.
- It organizes orientation programs for outgoing students and enables them to learn about mobility. It keeps the files of the students who will go with mobility and informs both the departments and the student affairs.
- It works in coordination with the Financial Affairs Directorate to calculate the grants to be received by the staff and students who will benefit from mobility and to transfer these grants to the people in a timely manner.
- It solves all kinds of problems that may occur in mobility programs and makes the necessary correspondence.
- It coordinates with the Turkish National Agency and requests a budget. It shares the messages conveyed by the Turkish National Agency to the University with the Rector and Vice-Rector.
- It mediates the provision of a suitable environment for academic staff from exchange programs to teach at our University and for administrative staff to make administrative observations. In addition, they arrange the environments where they can stay and follow up the necessary documents.
- It keeps track of the documents of the students who come with the exchange program, arranges the places where they can stay and informs the faculties, colleges and institutes where they will be guests in order to match the courses they will take. Organizes an orientation program for incoming students. It helps to solve any problems they may encounter during their stay and guides them.
- Participates in programs such as meetings, seminars, etc. organized by the National Agency, and ensures that the information obtained is conveyed to both the authorized supervisors and the staff and students at the university.
- Preparing the Academic Cooperation Agreements approved by the senior management in accordance with the protocols and submitting them for signature, ensuring that the continuity is maintained by making correspondence and necessary preparations regarding the transactions of incoming and outgoing students and staff in this context.
- It provides the necessary coordination for students who want to benefit from the national exchange program to go to another university in the country as an exchange student for one or two semesters. In this context, it keeps track of the documents of incoming and outgoing students.
- It informs the relevant units about the students and carries out the necessary meetings and orientation programs for promotion. It informs the University staff about these programs, which are within the scope of the Council of Higher Education, and ensures participation in the meetings and seminars organized.
- It acts as an intermediary in the exchange of information about the exchange programs of the Council of Higher Education.

2022-2023 Academic Year Erasmus+ Student and Administrative-Academic Staff Mobility
Due to the earthquake disaster in our region on February 6, there were no lecturers from abroad within the scope of Erasmus+ in the 2022-2023 academic year. During this period, 2 (two) faculty members from the Faculty of Medicine of our University went abroad within the scope of Erasmus+.
Likewise, due to the earthquake disaster in our region on February 6, there were no students from abroad in the 2022-2023 academic year. In this period, the number of students going from our institution within the scope of Erasmus+ International Student Exchange programs is 4 (four).
Likewise, due to the earthquake disaster in our region on February 6, there were no personnel coming from abroad in the 2022-2023 academic year. In this period, the number of personnel leaving our institution within the scope of Erasmus+ Staff Training Mobility is 14 (fourteen).
Within the scope of the Erasmus+ program, the current number of bilateral agreements made with universities abroad in the 2022-2023 Academic Year is 26 (twenty-six), and a bilateral agreement that expires in 2023 has been updated.
In order to increase the recognition of our university on international platforms and to cooperate bilaterally; In the 2022-2023 academic year , visits were made to Berlin Charite University, Medical School of Berlin, Prague Charles (Karolina) University and Medical University of Vienna .
